La Cahudière is available all year round usually for a minimum of one week. All bookings are normally based on a Saturday arrival and departure. In low season shorter breaks may be available and arrival and departure times can be more flexible.

How to book

Contact us by telephone or Email to confirm availability for your chosen gite(s) We will then Email you a booking form.

For bookings made a year in advance, we will only require a 10% deposit by BACS. 40% is then due in the January of the year you are booking. – All other bookings will require 50% by BACs at the time of booking.

Bookings are per gîte, not per person. Friends or family are welcome to visit and stay, provided they do not exceed the maximum sleeping capacity. We normally do not accept pets. All communications are in English. The deposit is required to confirm your booking. Please do not post cash. We regret that we are currently unable to accept credit cards. You are advised to take out personal holiday insurance cover, and to obtain a European Health Insurance Card (this replaces the old E111 form) which will entitle you to some medical treatment as an EU citizen. This can be obtained from most local post offices in the UK.

Booking Terms and Conditions
The name La Cahudière refers to a complex of 2 gîtes which can be booked separately or in multiple. These terms and conditions apply to both gîtes in the La Cahudière complex.

Making a Booking
Our aim is to ensure that your requirements are met as fully as possible. In order to ensure that your gîte selection and dates can be met we advise you to contact us prior to booking. However we do not offer any guarantee of availability until we have receipt of a signed booking form and a 50% deposit cheque or BACs payment and we confirm your booking.

The booking form asks for all the details of your holiday requirements and how to calculate the deposit required. On receipt of these we will confirm your holiday with you. We will ask for the balance and any additional charges to be made 8 weeks (56 days) before the start of your holiday. If you book a holiday 8 weeks (56 days) or less before the start of your holiday period you will normally be asked for payment in full at the time of booking.

Holiday Charges
Our literature and our website states services included in the weekly rental price and those items, which shall be charged for separately. Should you wish to pay for your holiday in Euro you will be charged at the rate issued by the bank ‘Credit Agricole’ relevant at the time of paying your deposit and the balance. The 50% deposit is calculated on the basic gîte(s) hire only and will not include any additional items you may have requested.

Liability for Payment
The individual who signs the booking form shall be responsible for payment of the holiday in full. If we do not receive your final payment by the due date in response to our letter requesting the balance, we will reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you. We will then levy a cancellation charge according to the charges laid out in the ‘Cancellation by You’ (See Below). The cancellation charge will be deducted from you deposit and if appropriate part of the balance payment.

Should you need to cancel your holiday for some reason you will need to do this in writing by letter or by email, Charges made for cancellation as a % of total cost of rental:

Cancellation by Us

Cancellation by us would be very rare and can only be envisaged due to unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which we could not avoid, for example, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disaster, level of water in rivers, seriously adverse weather conditions, flooding or similar events beyond our control. In such a situation we do not accept any liability for any compensation but will of course refund monies already paid by you whether in part or in full.

Care of Your Gîte and security deposit
There is an expectation that you will make every effort to leave the Gite as you found it and exercise a responsibility of reasonable care for the building, its contents and grounds. On departure, should the condition of the property be in a state that may reasonably be judged unacceptable then this will be considered damage and a portion or the whole of the security deposit may be retained.

The gîte will be checked at the end of your holiday by the on-site owner and your pre-paid security deposit returned to you less any deductions if deemed necessary. This deposit may also cover lost articles. Your deposit will be refunded by cheque or BACs payment 2 weeks after the conclusion of your holiday.

Your Guests
Your gîte(s) have a maximum sleeping capacity. The number of occupants including any guests you may have should not exceed this. The site owner should be informed of any guests you may have staying overnight. The term guest in this context refers to a person or persons already known to you and the purpose of the visit is by virtue of that relationship. Under no circumstances may you act as an agent to sub let to a third party.

Complaints
It is our aim that you be completely satisfied. If you should find anything you are not happy with after the start of your holiday, this can be reported to the on-site manager immediately. He/She will endeavor to rectify the situation as soon as is reasonably practical depending on the problem.

Insurance
We are covered by the legal requirements in France regarding public use of private property including those with a swimming pool.
We cannot accept responsibility for loss or theft of personal belongings from the gîte(s). All car parking is at car owner’s risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any accident, injury or illness that is sustained during your holiday period but outside our premises.

The Swimming Pool
The pool complies with all the safety standards provided by appropriate French regulatory bodies. (AFNOR – Association francaise de normalisation, DDE, Department de l’equipement and DDASS, Direction départementale des Affaires sanitaires et sociales) It is the responsibility of visitors to abide by the safety rules and regulations provided during your stay to ensure safe use of the pool by visitors of all ages.

Brochure and website accuracy
We have taken great care to ensure that the information we have given you on the website is as accurate as possible. However all information is offered as advisory and we will not be held responsible for any misconceptions that may result from its use. In the case of the website, where we have provided useful links to other websites to help you to plan your holiday, we have no responsibility for the information contained in those sites.
